Designer for celebs, richlisters, lands mega price for own home

Award-winning designer Chris Clout listed the dream home he designed and built with his father for sale via tender.

An award-winning home designer for celebs and richlisters has landed a bumper price for his pandemic-era escape which has six beer taps, multiple pools and three kitchens.

Noosa-based Queensland home designer Chris Clout designed and built his luxury triple-storey house as a forever home for his young family. So it’s no surprise, he had a battle on his hands trying to convince wife Dani to sell the property they’d poured everything into during the pandemic.

The home was designed for multi-generational families to coexist in luxurious harmony across three levels.

But convince he did – thanks to a promise she now holds him to – which is to build her another Noosa home packed with all the dream features they’ve just sold.

Mr Clout has some vindication this month for that decision to sell, with settlement of a mega price of $13.3m for the property – funds the Clouts plan to sink into several other projects they currently have on the go across the holiday shire.

Six beer taps are at the bar in the entertainment/games floor.

The games floor includes a gym, games room and another open plan lounge.

It was bought an interstate businessman in May with a settlement date of early July put on the transaction, according to property records.

“Every night when I go to turn off all the lights I think how can I let go of this,” Mr Clout had said earlier. But “we’ve got too many other projects to move on to and we really want to test the market at the high end”.

The six bedroom, six bathroom, six car park house was first listed for sale via tender closing Friday April 14 by Noosa Heads-based real estate agent Rachel Sellman of Century 21 Conolly Hay Group, who had marketed it as setting a new standard in luxury.

The Clouts had bought the land for $855,000 in October 2015 with plans to put their forever home on it. The home was designed by Mr Clout and his team, and project managed by them as well, with construction supervision from his father during the pandemic period.

The showcase garage for six cars can take 13 vehicles including a speedboat.

On holiday at home in one of five bedrooms.

It is packed with every modcon imaginable and then some with a kitchen on each of its three levels, a 12x5m touch tennis court, two minigolf greens, a basketball ring, dedicated theatre space, a fully equipped games room, gym, full-size bar with six beer taps, drink fridges, gas BBQ, spa, massage room, sauna, a six-car garage with room for up to 13 vehicles, boat parking, 20kW solar system with two 20kW batteries, in-ground water tanks, integrated airconditioning, built-in speakers, and complete smart home features.
