An inner-city Brisbane home that has been extensively renovated top to bottom heads to auction next week, with its owners preparing to downsize.
The five-bedroom, three-bathroom home at 1 Craven Street, Clayfield, captivated owners Bronwyn Pitt and her husband Tony, who were initially looking to build a new home.
“We came to the open house, and I loved its bones,“ Mrs Pitt said.
“It had a contemporary space ready to be opened up and updated.
“My work is in interior design, and I wanted to do another big project like this.
“The renovation took 12 months, and we gave the home a full cosmetic revamp.”
The couple put in a custom-made kitchen with Wyer + Craw, full European appliances, a new wax-coated finish on the floor, new carpets, retiled terraces, an entrance hall, new laundry and all-new bathrooms.
“The kitchen and ensuite are my favourite things about the home,“ Mrs Pitt said.|
“We’ve got stunning views, and the area is magnificent.
“I will miss the home’s relaxed living spaces. We have a beautiful living room attached to the terrace, and a separate living area called the snug.
“It’s a great family home, and the house will grow with a family of any size.”
Mrs Pitt said Clayfield is an excellent area to live in and was central to amenities.|
“We’ve always had fantastic neighbours, good schools, easy to get to supermarkets, the airport, the CBD, it’s just so easy to live here,“ she said.
“Renovations have doubled in price since pre-covid, and our legacy to the future buyers is that you can walk into this home and an interior designer has done it, it’s got great flow, and it’s a beautiful home to live in.
“That’s why we’re taking it to the market now.
“We’re having a downsize and transitioning into retirement. We’re looking at a lot of things; if it needs work, I will do it … I’m keeping an open mind.”
Property agent Patrick McKinnon from Place Ascot said the Wyer + Craw cabinetry demonstrates the quality of work that has gone into the home.
“The quality of finish is second to none,” he said.
“There is absolutely nothing to do; the owners have done it very nicely.
“It’s a small block home finished to the highest standards. There isn’t much competition, and a home light this one is very rare and highly sought after.
“Buyers want anything that is finished; people want fully done products.
“The interest in this property is very strong. We’ve had double digits through every open for inspection.”
1 Craven Street, Clayfield, heads to auction Saturday, July 29, at 12pm.
