RETIRED NRL legend Darius Boyd and his wife Kayla, who flip luxury rebuilds, have revealed what their latest renovation project will look like.
Called ‘Mala’, the property described as a modern, mediterranean farmhouse in Brisbane’s inner northern suburb of Grange is under construction, with framing up and walls and archways being installed.

Designed by Rogue Architects and being built by CHS Building, the project is a huge, double-storey, black and white home with arched windows and doors.
New artist’s impressions of the house reveal a minimalist, light-filled open-plan kitchen and living area, using tones of taupe, white and black.

The living area boasts a marble fireplace and massive arched windows framed in black, with Oak herringbone flooring — the perfect place to watch the State of Origin.
Kayla took to her Instagram account to reveal the images to her 60,000 followers, saying:
‘So happy to share these renders of our build. So very proud of this one.

‘The open concept living, along with the natural light that fills the home, creates a warm and very homely atmosphere. It’s going to be a dreamy spot for entertaining, relaxing, and taking in the beauty of nature.’
She recently posted a video of the home under construction, pointing out the master bedroom with its doubled arched door entry and his and her walk-in wardrobes.

Kayla has designed the interiors herself through her Row Interiors business.
The former Brisbane Broncos captain and his wife bought the original home on the site for $1.6m late last year.

The 969sq m property has a creek and a bike path nearby and overlooks trees.
The couple has had success with the resale value of their rebuilds in recent years.
Last year, they sold a Joe Adsett-designed home in Paddington for $4.2m. They had bought the original property for $1.205m three years earlier.

In Hendra, they recruited Graya to rebuild a home they bought in 2016 for $810,000.
It went on to sell for $1.86m in 2020, and then again in July 2022 for $2.815m.
